Having a break, doing some consulting and exploring opportunities after my time at Sonray Capital Markets in their product development division after four years with IWL Limited.
I currently live in Balaclava, Victoria with my wife and 2 dogs.
I had been working for IWL Limited which to this day is a fast paced and growing business specialising in financial services that has since been purchased by CBA (ASX:CBA).
A leading Wholesale Financial Services Management Group, it now has only two business streams which includes wholesale broking (AUSIEX) and Portfolio Administration (Echelon). The research business (Investorweb) was closed in August 2008 while its retail broking businesses (including Sanford Securities and Avcol) were merged into Commsec in January 2008.
Reporting into the CEO I had two roles – one being Divisional Operating Officer – Retail Wealth (Acting) and the other General Manager – Marketing / Wholesale and Retail Business Development. I was responsible for the business development and marketing of this once publicly listed company while also having responsibilities for the operations and marketing of our retail wealth businesses.
Also included in my role was product development which allowed the development of such strategies as the Virtual Broker Wrap to allow our portfolio offering to be more easily accessed while Sanford2Go allowed our retail trades to trade from a internet enabled mobile phone.
