Credit must go to the entrepreneur Howard Lindzon for posting the video on his blog. Howard is part of the founding team of StockTwits, a partner in Knight’s Bridge Capital Partners, and a regular blogger I follow.
The video tells the story…it’s about a dancing nut…but I think it makes a very interesting statement when it comes to start ups and entrepreneurship. Three points that stand out to me are;
- Be different because being different will get you noticed and getting noticed may get you a follower, or more.
- Have your own leadership style – you may have your critics but you will also have your fans
- Remember, you are defined by your followers – you may provide the inspiration but they define the movement. It’s the followers that allows the “lone nut” to become the leader.
